Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Building & Grounds employee to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of general facilities maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and high-quality working environment for our employees.
Essential Functions:
- Work overtime as needed for breakdowns and project work.
- Maintain positive communication with a diverse group including management, office staff, contractors, and factory workers.
- Uphold a high safety standard across the plant through preventive and predictive maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
- Knowledge in troubleshooting and understanding principles of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, security, and building structures.
- Skilled in welding, office setup, electrical wiring, water supply/drain maintenance, HVAC troubleshooting, and more.
- Follow Arc Flash plant requirements safely.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all facility equipment, including record-keeping.
- Participate in spill prevention/countermeasure training and certification.
- Occasionally train other technicians.
- Maintain 5S and organization of Building & Grounds work areas.
- Implement waste storage and labeling for hazard, non-hazard, and universal waste.
- Follow plant safety programs including lockout/tagout and confined space.
- Recognize and address general safety issues in the workplace.
- Participate and interact in plant improvement committees.
- Meet all physical job requirements.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school degree, GED, or equivalent factory experience.
- Experience: Prior trade or maintenance experience required.
- Skills: Read, write, and perform basic math in English; understand building, plumbing, and electrical schematics; knowledge in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and energy control systems.
- Training: Willingness to enroll and complete company’s sponsored Maintenance Training Program (2-4 years).
- Licensing: Forklift and overhead crane licenses; ability to operate scissor and boom lifts.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills for maintenance software.
- Personal Abilities: Attention to detail, prioritize multiple tasks, self-starter, team player, ability to follow detailed instructions.
