JOB SUMMARY: Ideal candidates are highly motivated and effective at working in a fast-paced team environment. Our Bell/Valet Captain is responsible for supervising all bell/valet attendants to ensure that we are providing a warm welcome and create a positive first impression to all Resort Guests and Visitors. Provide a high level of service to create a memorable experience as soon as guests arrive and promote La Valencia’s iconic history and notoriety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·Supervise all Bell/Valet Attendants

·Welcome and acknowledge all resort guests and vendors in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service.

· Communicate with other departments as needed to enhance the guest check-in process and arrival experience.

· Maintain high level of guest recognition.

· Check logbook, emails and other message center several times daily.

· Keep on-going log of requests and deliveries within the resort.

· Follow Phone etiquette and provide proper greeting.

· Follow Radio etiquette with earpiece.

· Attend pre-shift meeting with Front Office for incoming arrivals, VIP’s and resort events.

· Attendant is knowledgeable about the facilities, scheduled activities, and daily events at the resort to offer recommendations.

· Attendant is knowledgeable of surrounding areas, provide directions and set up GPS in car accordingly.

· Maintain check-in and delivery logbook daily.

· Attend to bell carts – Cleanliness and report repair needs.

· Keep Water available at all times.

· Keep Bell Desk, and all areas cleaned at all times with no litter.

· Run errands for guests when needed.

· Participate in all meetings as requested.

· To report any problems to the manager on duty in a timely manner.

· Always set up workstation with necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness throughout shift.

· Actively participates in safety programs and abides by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements.

· Participate in and support hotel efforts towards community service, sustainability and environmental initiatives.

· Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. College degree preferred but not required. English fluency required. Minimum one year experience of customer service. Experience hospitality preferred but not required. Current CA Driver's License required with good driving record.

SKILLS AND APTITUTES: Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. High quality standards for production and service. Maintain a professional and courteous environment. Good team player. High level of morale and productivity. Maintain a professional and courteous environment. Ability to effectively manage and problem solve situations. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Works indoors and outdoors. Must always be alert and practice safety protocols. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, running, finger dexterity, and pushing/pulling. Frequent lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs. and occasional lifting carrying of up to 100 lbs. Wear earpieces at all times during shift. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must always be aware of environment and safety procedures. Flexibility required to work long, sometimes irregular hours.
