The Dispatcher role is based in Connellsville, PA at our Central Dispatch Facility.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

Are you an efficient multi-tasker that loves a good challenge? In this position you are responsible for scheduling and managing the flow of orders and trucking logistics for a shipping area within a central dispatch environment for a ready-mix concrete company.

• The efficient movement of trucks between assigned plants within a shipping area while effectively communicating with other dispatchers in order to meet the needs of an entire market area
• Maintaining the proper resources to manage customer demand
• Review orders in the system for proper mix design, travel times, and correct job start times, and job or customer specific needs
• Communicates effectively with customers to provide up to date information in regard to the company’s ability to meet expected delivery times
• Communicate in an effective manner with all plant operations, QC & Sales personnel to ensure that the assigned shipping area has the proper resources, personnel, and trucks available to provide superior customer service
• The Dispatcher is a fully experienced individual who understands the value of planning and processes and takes a disciplined approach to execution
• Abides by all company policies and procedures in regard to the handling of drivers and equipment
• Meeting customer demands through applied dispatching techniques that also fit within the guidelines of Federal Hours of Service Regulations
• Represent the company as our liaison between customers and operations personnel.
• Scheduling future orders in the absence of the Scheduler
• Customer satisfaction
• Health & Safety issues addressed
• Managing driver hours to comply with Federal Hours of Service requirements
• Assets Fully Utilized, yard per man-hour & loads per truck efficiencies
• Fills in as needed to cover any other position with the department
• Demonstrated customer service excellence
• Ensures compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in a ready-mix dispatch environment preferred
• Ability to work fluctuating hours in accordance with customer needs
• Rotating Saturdays as required by business needs
• Post-secondary education preferred but not required
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Command Series dispatching software
• Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
