Essential Functions of the Heavy Equipment Operator

An Operator must be able to utilize heavy equipment and trucking to excavate, install, and complete projects. Ability to operate backhoes, loaders, excavators, asphalt rollers, and other heavy equipment.

• Operate equipment of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various construction debris, materials, and supplies.
• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
• Skill in the operation of demolition tools and equipment
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
• Ability to drive and operate a variety of equipment under varying conditions
• Ability to observe proper safety precautions
• Excellent communication skills
• Organized, hardworking and motivated
• Strong team player with positive attitude

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE of the Heavy Equipment Operator

• OSHA 10 or higher construction training
• EPA, OSHA and local hazardous materials policy knowledge
• Construction background a must
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record - Preferred
