Job Description
The Maintenance Technician II preforms routine and preventative maintenance and simple repairs for designated equipment and facilities. Preforms a variety of troubleshooting tasks and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor to verify work task and duties.
Essential Functions
1. Programming, troubleshooting and maintaining advanced PLCs
2. Reading assembly drawings, schematics and equipment layouts.
3. Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic circuits.
4. Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing control devices.
5. Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing hydraulic equipment, circuits and components.
6. Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing pneumatic systems.
7. Must be able to look up parts from equipment drawings, schematics and parts lists. Must be able to fill out parts requisitions in order to purchase.
8. Must be able to understand our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and be able to conform to our work order procedures.
9. Understanding and using data to improve productivity.
10. Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
11. Assisting crew members and work in team environment.
12. Helping meet or exceed production waste and quality goals.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1. 3 years of manufacturing experience in a related field.
2. Must be able to efficiently and effectively use a computer, CMMS and related software related to record-keeping and machine troubleshooting/maintenance.
3. Must be capable of recognizing and understanding numbers and values and enter this information into an on-line database accurately.
4. Strong mathematical ability is essential.
5. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
6. Ability to stand for long periods on hard surfaces.
7. Ability of strong mechanical aptitude.
8. Ability to climb 60 feet.
9. Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
10. Ability to troubleshoot and repair low voltage (12 v DC) – high voltage (480 v AC 3 Phase) electrical systems.
11. Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
12. Ability to work long hours and weekends.
Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or 2 years prior experience.
2. General knowledge of OSHA and HAZMAT regulations.
3. Basic concepts of algebra and geometry to calculate proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.
4. Ability to operate hand and power tools, industrial machines, digital cameras, phones, scanners, tools, and controls in a safe manner.
5. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, hand-eye coordination.
6. Ability to work and concentrate in a noisy environment.
7. Requires working with a wide variety of other job groups and involves working around traffic, heights, electricity, hydraulics, and heavy equipment including moving parts.
8. Must have manual dexterity.

1. Ability to perform in an environment that is not climate-controlled.
