Planner, Maintenance

Howmet Aerospace is searching for a Planner in the maintenance department. This opening is located at Fontana, CA. The Planner is responsible for support of planned production tooling readiness / maintenance work, which incorporates cost, importance, labor, materials, etc. that is required. The planning of the tooling and maintenance work is to ensure that when the forge work is scheduled, it is to be completed with the least interruption to operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include the following: other duties may be required and assigned at any time.

• Support the tracking of all the tooling, whether new or being repaired. This includes daily updates to management.
• Supports the visual and dimensional inspection of tool sets.
• Manages and maintains Kanban inventory of perishable tooling.
• Review blueprint requirements to determine material needs for tooling, whether new or being repaired.
• Supports the writeup of requisitions and tracking for Tooling services.
• Supports processing and tracking of tooling / maintenance checkbook invoices and purchased orders.
• Closes works orders in the Express Maintenance CMMS.
• Use of daily management for status and tracking.
• Oversee and maintains accurate critical Production Tooling and Equipment spares lists
• Updates PM/PdM activities in the Express Maintenance CMMS.
• Write/Review applicable maintenance procedures (PM's) that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
• Tracking of schedule completion including carry over work
• Reviews and organizes ready work orders for most efficient execution
• Creates preliminary weekly maintenance schedules based on work center capacity and priorities of the production area
• Finalizes and communicates weekly maintenance schedules
• Provides support in to coordinate production equipment availability, special tools/equipment and other resources as required
• Continually improving planning, scheduling, purchasing, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS

1-2 years previous maintenance planning experience. Associates degree in Technical Field or combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Express Maintenance CMMS

SALARY

$65k - $75k Annually
