WELDER

Summary

The Welder will be responsible for the welding and fabrication activities on large heavy, highway/site construction vehicles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Current certifications for unlimited thickness welding
• Determines sequence of activities concerned for repair/material installation
• Should be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a welder
• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
• Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or stick arc welding equipment
• Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as required
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Operate all hand and power tools required of position
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5 years of welding experience in construction field operations
• Welding certifications
• Communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Willingness to learn and accept direction from supervisors
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Knowledgeable in OSHA standards

Working Conditions

• Schedule - Work assignment M-S, 40 hours plus overtime as project demands require
• Construction Site Environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Lifting and carrying material and objects. Exposed to high noise levels.
