WELDER
Summary
The Welder will be responsible for the welding and fabrication activities on large heavy, highway/site construction vehicles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Current certifications for unlimited thickness welding
- Determines sequence of activities concerned for repair/material installation
- Should be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a welder
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or stick arc welding equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as required
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Operate all hand and power tools required of position
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years of welding experience in construction field operations
- Welding certifications
- Communication and interpersonal skills are a must
- Willingness to learn and accept direction from supervisors
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Knowledgeable in OSHA standards
Working Conditions
- Schedule - Work assignment M-S, 40 hours plus overtime as project demands require
- Construction Site Environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Lifting and carrying material and objects. Exposed to high noise levels.
