CDL Driver I

Wisconsin Building Supply operates locations throughout Wisconsin supplying windows, doors, roofing, siding, millwork, lock hardware, columns, trim, mouldings, cabinetry, countertops, decking, railing, gypsum, lumber & plywood, insulation, and other building materials.

Delivers materials to job site, inspe c ts and maintains tru c k, reports shortages and c laims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials . Typi c ally a less experien c ed C DL or tra c tor trailer driver.

Essential Job Duties:

• Maintains a c urrent C lass A or B C ommer c ial Driver's Li c ense as required .
• Prepares DOT required log of time on duty and driving.
• Organizes and se c ures load. Assists forklift operators when loading.
• A c c ounts for all c ompany funds, su c h as C .O.D.'s.
• C he c ks orders for a c c ura c y Delivers and unloads materials to c ustomers' satisfa c tion.
• C ompletes daily equipment pre-inspe c tion.
• Re c ords all mer c handise that is returned by tru c k, assists in unloading material returned for c redit.
• Follows guidelines established by the Department of Transportation. Operates Boom in safe and effi c ient manner, maintains re c ords regarding equipment use and time c harged.
• Logs in deliveries on supervisor's log sheet.
• Waits on c ustomers while tru c k is being loaded.
• Relays messages sent by c ustomers while on job .
• Assists supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned. Assists in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
• C omplies with C ompany's attendan c e poli c y by maintaining regular and predi c table attendan c e.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Minimum edu c ation required - High S c hool Diploma or general equivalen c y degree (GED).
• Minimum experien c e required -6 months C DL experien c e in c luding lumber dumping.
• Basi c C DL experien c e with flat beds and/or tra c tor trailers required .
• Spe c ial skills required- Ability to do arithmeti c , read orders, write instru c tions, and c omplete forms.
• C ommuni c ate with c ustomers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills and use safe lifting te c hniques.
• C lean driving re c ord, c urrent C DL operator's li c ense, and c urrent DOT qualifi c ations.
• Physi c al demands in c lude stooping, bending, twisting, and throwing . Working in a variety of c limates and environmental c onditions . Ability to lift up 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
