What we are looking for:

The Vice President of Finance, United States, will be a key finance leader for Fiera Capital Inc. (including a related Holdings entity) and will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer. The Vice President of Finance, United States will be responsible for all aspects of financial controllership, including statutory filings and supporting the annual audit of Fiera Capital Corporation (i.e. Group Company Audit); day to day financial management; regulatory compliance (including tax and treasury), and providing key business decision support by acting as a strong business partner to the regional and global leadership team. In addition, the Vice President of Finance, United States, will be responsible for supporting all treasury and tax related matters for both legal entities in the United States. This position will have two direct reports and will be responsible for the leadership and development of these employees.

Regular travel will be required to Montreal (Head office) and other Fiera locations, from time to time.

The salary range: 185,000 - 255,000 USD. This role is eligible for other compensation incentives, such as bonuses, benefits, and other perks.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting and financial reporting requirements related to the financial statements of Fiera Capital Inc. in accordance with IFRS
  • Supporting Corporate Finance in the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements of Fiera Capital Corporation (FCC) and related financial analysis and presentations, as required
  • Development of strong partnership with key business leaders in the United States, including the Regional Head of Distribution
  • Supporting Corporate FP&A in the development of forecasts and annual budgets for Fiera Capital Inc.
  • Ensuring all financial regulatory and compliance matters related to Fiera Capital Inc. (and related Holdings entity) are appropriately adhered to
  • Provide support for all Corporate Treasury and Tax related matters in the region
  • Development of a strong and scalable accounting team to manage the month-end close process to producing accurate financial results in an efficient manner and to facilitate management reporting views (including by division and by country)
  • Development of accounting policies and practices which are consistent with Global and Corporate policies that are well documented
  • Ensuring appropriate internal controls are designed and operating effectively in support of CEO and CFO internal control certification
  • Building a strong accounting and finance team and providing coaching and mentorship to ensure their continuous professional development
  • Manage relationship with external auditors

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

Education/Accreditation

  • CPA, CA designation
  • University degree in Accounting or Commerce

Experience and specific skills

  • At least 5 years of progressive management experience in Finance in a public company environment
  • Big 4 Accounting Firm experience
  • Finance business decision support i.e. finance business support experience
  • Strong leadership and ability to develop employees, provide guidance, direction, and training, and promote a positive working environment
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge under IFRS and the ability to interpret complex technical accounting issues and implement practical solutions
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deliverables concurrently
  • Drive for continuous improvement, leveraging and adapting system functionality and challenging existing processes
  • Strong strategic skills, including the ability to leverage resources (people, processes, departments, tools) and collaborate to complete objectives effectively and efficiently
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather, formulate and analyze data to support recommendations to senior management independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent research skills
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization confidently and effectively and to build strong working relationships in a team-oriented, deadline driven environment
  • Experience with SAP S/4Hana and SAP Group Reporting and Workiva is considered an asset
