Job Description
Job Summary:
Exact Inc. (a division of Chancey Metals, LLC) is seeking a Finishing Operator to join our team. The Finishing Operator is responsible for ensuring that manufactured parts undergo the final stages of chemical cleaning, masking, painting, powder coating, or silk-screening in accordance with established specifications. This role involves equipment maintenance, process control, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Maintain equipment associated with the finishing process
· Produce, update and maintain Process Control Sheets for the finishing process
· Set up and break down equipment pertaining to the finishing of parts with chemical cleaning, masking, painting, powdering, and silkscreening
· Operate all equipment for the finishing process
· Notify management of any repairs needed on finishing equipment
· Operate pallet jacks and forklifts
· Read and understand prints and drawings
· Insure work orders and prints match parts for finishing requirements
· Update work orders
· Update skid tags and moving parts to proper areas
· Identify parts that do not meet specifications
· Ensure that parts have all previous production sequences completed before the finishing process starts and that all finishing processes are completed before the parts are moved to the next sequence
· Know the quality system, buy-off procedures, AQL, peer review inspections and how to record entries
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in the finishing process and precision parts
· Ability to read and comprehend standard instructions, short correspondence, and memos; including, safety, instructional and procedural manuals
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
· Ability to present information in one-on-one and in group situations with fellow employees and customers
· Ability to make basic mathematical calculations related to daily job functions
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
· Ability to apply commonsense in understanding and carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional Requirements:
· Follow proper safety procedures at all times
· Lift up to 50 lbs
