*Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)* for The Hundley Center. The CNA provides restorative nursing care for residents on the Transitional Care Unit under the direction of the nursing staff to maximize and maintain the physical functioning and emotional wellness of the residents; acts as an extender to nurses, performing nursing procedures and resident care tasks within scope of competence and in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
*Responsibilities:*
Provides direct hands-on treatment under the guidance and supervision of licensed nursing staff and in compliance with Children's Hospital policy of unlicensed staff.
Maintains a safe and resident friendly environment of care. Resident equipment and materials are kept in good repair.
Maintains residents' personal items and environment to optimize care and safety.
Reports to licensed nurse changes in condition or concerns regarding residents and seeks assistance as needed.
Participates in department and team projects as directed.
Performs duties within scope of certified nursing assistant role.
*Qualifications:*
*Required*
Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification from VA Department of Health Professions
*Education/training REQUIRED*
High School Diploma *or *Certification
*Preferred*
Previous experience providing activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs and caring for the physical and emotional needs of patients
Previous experience using a personnel computer, keyboard and mouse
Previous work experience in a long-term care setting
