Job Summary:

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in general building construction.

Essential Functions: Management:

• Read and understand blueprints and specifications

• Communicate production goals daily.

• Provide cost estimate information for fieldwork orders.

• Order materials and optimize material usage.

• Ability to work with co-workers and subcontractors.

• Ability to work with the owner, architectural and building inspectors.

• Inspect work performed to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, uniform building codes, ADA codes, local ordinances, and meeting the highest standard of quality.

• Fill out and maintain daily: Timecards, Daily Reports, Concrete Pour Logs, Daily

Production Forms, etc.

• Fill out and maintain as needed: Absence Reports, Termination Notices, Problem

Discussion Forms, and Injury Reports, etc.

• Assign workers to duties such as: rigging, light gage metal framing, drywall, lathing, acoustical ceilings, foundation, rough framing, roof framing, concrete forms, layout, level and transit, basic cutting, welding, cabinet making, finish trim, door hanging and hardware, build stairs, lay hardwood floors, and millwright.

• Perform work with tools as required.

 

Marketing:

• Ability to work with the owner, architect maintaining working relationships for future project opportunities.

• Maintain a commitment to the company's vision and spirit.

 

Financial:

• Provide cost estimate information for fieldwork orders.

• Order materials and optimize material usage.

• Track and forecast labor production. Track and forecast labor production hours based on the project's estimate.

• Provide the Superintendent with up-to-date labor production reports daily.

• Study weekly labor and monthly total job reports carefully to determine areas needing special attention and initiate changes and procedures to bring costs back

into budget. .

 

 

 

 

 

• Communicate production forecast to crews.

 

Planning:

• Read and understand P3 and SureTrak schedules.

• Ability to build a three-week short intern schedule.

• Determine sequence of construction activities.

• Help determine crew composition.

 

Training:

• Train and mentor employees.

• Have the ability to develop Carpenters, Laborers, and Craftsmen.

 

Safety:

• Inspect work performed to insure conformance with all safety regulation, policies and procedures.

• Fill out and maintain weekly: Safety Toolbox Talks as required.

• The ability to meet the above duties will be based on the standards and guidelines set forth by LLR Construction. The inability to perform the above duties will result in position and/or wage demotion and possible dismissal.

 

 

Requirements:

 

1) Current and valid drivers' license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by

LLR Construction automobile insurance carrier in order to drive an LLR vehicle).

 

2) Must pass required LLR Construction drug screen and agree to random drug screens.

 

3) Sign an AVERT waiver

 

4) Proof of current completion of a general course recognized by LLR Construction in "Hazardous Substances - Recognition and Protection," First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens and the OSHA 10 hour class, if applicable. (Or must attend next available class.)

 

5) Willingness to attend safety meetings and receive required training. Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience. Continuing education is required.

 

6) Willingness to attend monthly breakfast meetings and quarterly employee meetings.

 

8) Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy; compare and recognize differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures and objects; understand drawings and how they would look as solid objects; follow oral and written directions, drawings and specifications.

 

9) Ability to work out of town and varying hours as required, full-time or overtime, evenings or weekends.

 

10) Ability to work in a variety of environments which will include working outside in extreme weather conditions and noise levels.
