An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Senior Director Care Management in New York. This award-winning hospital is searching for a Nurse Leader Care Management to join their highly trained, friendly, and compassionate team. 

The 100+ bed general acute care hospital was founded over 100 years ago, providing both primary care and a full range of secondary level services. The facility operates an intensive care unit and telemetry unit as well as pediatric beds. The Senior Director Care Management will be joining a team of hardworking, skilled, and caring professionals.

The Senior Director Care Management supervises professional and clerical employees who work with a range of functions, including but not limited to: access, pre-authorization and precertification, bed placement, coding, utilization review and denial management, care coordination collaborative treatment planning and core measures, discharge planning, clinical social work, tracking of the post-acute period and provision of disease management, and contracting internally and externally. Among other responsibilities, this individual will also negotiate, approve, and manage the operational and capital budgets. 

This 100+ bed hospital seeks a Senior Director Care Management with a Masters in Social Work, Business or Nursing, five year experience in a healthcare setting, three year experience in utilization management or denial management, knowledge and experience in developing utilization management and revenue recovery strategies, experience dealing with authorizations and appeals process, knowledge of discharge planning and clinical case management strategies, knowledge and experience in project management and team dynamics, knowledge of and experience with basic research methods and statistical analysis, ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling, and familiarity with JCAHO requirements.

Nurse Leaders with work experience with DRGs, Medicare Regulations, Medical Necessity Criteria, Patient Bill of Rights, and HIPAA will earn quick interviews.
