Tool Maintenance Worker - Manufacturing

Essential Functions:

• Maintains adequate numbers of sharpened knives, blades and other cutting devices used on the various machines         within the facility.  
• Uses Lathes, Profile grinders, optical comparators, and sharpening machines to sharpen all cutters within the facility.  
• Interface with production supervisor to insure availability of tooling. 
• Must be able to read and write, complete maintenance forms and parts request.  
• Services and maintain assigned production machinery to attain optimum performance.  
• Perform scheduled Periodic Maintenance on assigned machinery unassisted.  
• Perform and record measurements using tape measures, vernier calipers, and dial indicators. 
• Read and record readings indicated on pneumatic, hydraulic and pressure differential gauges.  
• Perform fine adjustments and alignments to assigned machinery to bring them up to company and manufacture        standards.  
• Must be able to use standard and alignments to assigned machinery to bring them up to company and manufacture standards.  
• Must be able to use standard maintenance tools for the repair, servicing, relocation, and installation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery.  
• Know, employ, and enforce all safety standards.  
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience: 

• Use calipers and perform measurements to 0.001" and 0.001mm 
• Must be able to read and use both standard and metric tape measures and demonstrate measurements to 1/16" and 0.3mm (about 0.01 in). 
• Can operate a drill press, bench grinder and other standard maintenance shop equipment. 
• Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills: addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
