Job Description:
Summer Moon baristas will prepare and serve specialty coffee, other beverages, and food items to customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides outstanding customer service, making each customer feel welcome and loved

• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages; correctly customizes orders as requested.

• Accurately describes menu items to customers.

• Processes customer payments using the proper buttons, including discounts and upcharges when applicable.

• Serves prepared foods and baked goods.

• Ensures that stations are properly stocked with paper products and beverage preparation items.

• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas.

• Cleans and sanitizes service and seating areas.

• Ensures proper functioning of freezers, refrigerators, and food warmers by routinely checking temperatures

• Stocks retail products; ensures that merchandise displays look how they should.

• May help with counting inventory as directed.

• Assist with receiving orders and getting them put away properly.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ensures that their assigned tasks according to the provided task checklist are done at the end of each shift.

• Shows up to all scheduled shifts in uniform and on time.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices.

• Ability to multitask.

• Good memory to recall faces, names, and preferences of regular customers.

• Ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently, and kindly.

Education and Experience:

• Must successfully complete training in food preparation, food service skills, and customer service procedures.

• Must earn a valid food handlers certificate within 14 days from the date of your first shift.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

• Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be able to work on your feet for the duration of your shift (typically 8 hours).
