Directly reporting to the Assistant Nurse Manager of Pediatric MedSurg, the Pediatric MedSurg Nurse must be able to provide pertinent details regarding the daily operations within the department. Collaborating with the other staff nurses, the Pediatric MedSurg Nurse must be a strong communicator who works well with other leaders in various departments in an effective manner. The Pediatric MedSurg Nurse will be required to be a present and active team member within the department and consistently work to provide excellent patient care.

The Pediatric MedSurg Nurse will be tasked with assessing, identifying, planning, and treating each critical situation occurring within the department. Working in a stressful environment, the Pediatric MedSurg Nurse must be able to stay calm and provide the appropriate treatment needed in a timely manner. The Pediatric MedSurg Nurse will be required to have strong communication skills and be able to work well with other nurses and providers to ensure optimal patient care. Additionally, the Pediatric MedSurg Nurse must be organized when recording all pertinent information pertaining to patients of the department to ensure the proper care is being implemented within the department.
