A Magnet designated acute care hospital located in central Connecticut is currently searching for an experienced Surgical Services Nurse Educator to join their award-winning healthcare team.

The main campus includes a highly decorate ICU, single room model maternity units, wound care and hyperbaric center, a leading skilled nursing facility, and an established surgical center.

The Nurse Educator will join a comprehensive surgical service line that provides a variety of perioperative services. The Surgical Services Nurse Educator will lead the professional growth and development of the nursing staff in the Operating Rooms, Central Sterile Services, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, PACU, and Endoscopy areas. The Nurse Educator will plan, implement, and evaluate the ongoing educational and professional growth initiatives and collaborate with unit Managers and Directors in regards to service line goals. The Nurse Educator must have competent knowledge of general, vascular, orthopedic, genecology, ENT, endoscopy, laser, and GU specialties.

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program of Nursing
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Education is preferred
  • 5-10 years of clinical practice experience in surgical setting
  • CNOR required
