A not-for-profit acute care hospital located on the South Shore of Long Island is currently searching for an experienced Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services to join their award-winning healthcare team.

The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services will work within a state-of-the-art facility that is dedicated to serving their surrounding community. This facility is home to nearly 300-beds and offers a variety of medical and surgical services including behavioral health, emergency and trauma care, cardiovascular and pulmonary care, neurology, pain management, perioperative services, women’s health, and much more.

The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services will oversee a 40-bed multispecialty department that provides care to a mix of patients including those requiring critical care, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology and medical oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, rheumatology, and pulmonary medicine. The Nurse Manager will collaborate with board certified physicians who work closely across all specialties.

The Nurse Manager of Medical Surgical Services will be responsible for the clinical and administrative functions of the unit under direction of the unit Nurse Director. The Nurse Manager will oversee the personnel and fiscal management, performance improvement initiatives, and long-term goals of the service line. The Nurse Manager must have at least a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing along with prior managerial experience within a similar clinical setting.
