Essential Functions:
Summer paid internship working in EMC's information technology security teams - Identity and Access Management (IAM), Technology Security Risk (TSR), and Cybersecurity Operations and Engineering (CSOE)
Understand the functional role of security architecture in an organization and how it interacts with other IT functions
Analyze security concerns, develop and compare courses of action to resolve the concerns, and advise on the best approach forward
Conduct risk assessments as necessary to support security functions
Understand the role of Governance, Risk, and Compliance and support functional GRC requirements
Understand the capabilities and limitations of different security tools in order to effectively use them
Test control effectiveness and automate testing controls
Author technical documentation (processes, procedures, data flow diagrams)
Understand multi-cloud environments and support the development of security solutions designed to support a multi-cloud operating environment
Work with other IT departments to ensure projects and enhancements meet EMC's security policies, regulations, and standards and do not impact EMC's risk posture
Perform tool and vendor security reviews
Respond to security events
Perform security tooling administration
Collaborate with TSR on audits and assessments tasks
Collaborate with IAM on authentication and authorization solution
Education & Experience:
Computer Science, Cyber Security or MIS or related degree preferred
Completion of freshman year preferred
Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Analytical ability to identify problems and prepare solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft productivity tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Google counterparts
Strong communication and human relations skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work with people, organize information and develop testing strategies
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of ticketing systems such as Jira and Agile methodology
