Hourly Position Description

Position Summary
  • The Tool & Die Maker position is responsible for Industrial Tooling Maintenance.
Essential Functions
  • Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
  • Take an active role in caring for the equipment to prevent breakdowns and defects and help increase overall equipment efficiency through 5S, TPM (total productive maintenance), and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives directed by the Sedalia site.
  • The employee will be required to meet satisfactory performance requirements as determined by the Supervisor.
  • Additional responsibilities include good housekeeping and other assignments as directed by the Supervisor.
  • The employee shall be able to work overtime as requested and posted by management.
  • Secondary duties include all aspects of general tooling maintenance such as die build/repair/rebuild, roll form tooling repair and adjustment, custom press forming equipment tooling repair and adjustment, and performing preventative maintenance procedures on all plant tooling.

  • At least five (5) years of formal Tool & Die experience is required.
  • Formal Tech School training in the Tool & Die trade or training equal to.
  • Shall own and know how to use precision measuring tools in addition to basic hand tools.
  • Possess knowledge to read and understand blueprints and metal stamping concepts required in die manufacture.
  • Additional training in CAD, CNC, and EDM a plus.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Age 18 years or older
