Description:

In a fast-paced production environment, the ideal Fabrication Foreman will thrive as a mentor, coach, and leader for our fabrication team. Your ability to teach and collaborate with other fabricators to drive quality focused and efficient production workflows on a wide array of fabrication types, techniques, and projects will make you an integral part of our team. Your willingness to jump into the work will inspire those around you to uncover innovative solutions to production challenges and build everything better.

Essential Functions:

· Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and other production documentation to determine material requirements and task sequences.

· Monitor the daily workload activity of various fabrication processes and ensure project timelines are being met.

· Promote an atmosphere that facilitates open and effective communication within the team.

· Provide leadership to production staff such as welders, assemblers, painters, and general fabrication help through work direction, mentorship, and training.

· Lead team members in layout, fit up, and assembly using both manual and automatic machine operations.

· Set up equipment needed for fabrication and inspection as identified in company standards and project requirements.

· Provide technical knowledge to support the products being fabricated and the adherence to quality standards.

· Ensure the optimal utilization of production resources including both people and equipment among different assembly stations.

· Provide input and support for work instructions as necessary.

· Advise Production Manager of any situation that interrupts or prevents production from being completed efficiently and effectively.

· Ensure all operations for quality processes and procedures are completed and maintained.

· Alert Production Manager of any fabrication quality or procedure non-conformances.

· Assist in managing inventory by ensuring material usage transactions are correctly recorded, are completed on time, and inventory differences are properly adjusted.

· Oversee upkeep and maintenance on production equipment and machines used for completing fabrication work.

· Collaborate with the Production Manager and other foremen to identify necessary supplies for smooth production.

· Investigate and take prompt action when problems related to safety, product quality, equipment failure or material waste disrupt efficiency.

· Recognize, set-up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding and fabrication trade, such as but not limited to MIG welders, plasma cutters, torches, Ironworkers and band saws.

· Assist with, oversee, or complete other tasks as identified by the Production Manager or company leadership as they occur.

Skills and Experience:

· Ability to take ownership of commitments and organize and prioritize workload.

· Team-oriented, flexible, and highly collaborative with a positive attitude.

· Attention to detail, and accuracy in completing daily work or special projects.

· Ability to use effective processes to accomplish tasks on a quick turn-around basis.

· Ability to work on several tasks concurrently and effectively.

· At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a production environment

· At least 5 years welding experience

· Excellent verbal communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

· Demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.

· Proficient in reading Fabrication Drawings

· Fluent in welding specifications

Other details: (environment, full-time/part-time, physical demands, travel, etc.)

· The job will be full-time, in person.

· The primary workspace will be on your feet on the production floor.

· The production shop will create exposure to a loud environment.

 

Base pay at $26/hour + depending on experience and qualifications.
