Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing quality dental care to our patients. You will be responsible for performing dental hygiene procedures, educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and assisting our dentists in delivering exceptional dental services.

Responsibilities:

• Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth.
• Administer local anesthesia and place dental sealants as needed, if properly licensed and certified following all local and state guidelines.
• Take dental X-rays and develop them for the dentist's evaluation.
• Educate patients on good oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral health maintenance.
• Provide patients with personalized oral hygiene instructions and dietary recommendations to prevent dental issues.
• Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing dental instruments.
• Record patient information, treatment plans, and services rendered accurately in dental software.
• Identify and report any abnormalities or signs of oral diseases to the dentist.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth patient experience and coordinated care.
• Uphold strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe dental environment.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in dental hygiene and attend continuing education courses as required.

Qualifications:

• Current Dental Hygienist license issued by the Florida Board of Dentistry.
• Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
• Proficient in performing dental cleanings, X-rays, and dental hygiene procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and interact with patients.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record patient information.
• Knowledge of dental software and computer skills for record-keeping.
• Familiarity with dental equipment and tools, including X-ray machines and dental instruments.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards in dental care.

Preferred:

• CPR certification.
• Bilingual proficiency with Spanish or Creole.

Working Conditions: This position is based in our modern dental practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. You will work closely with a team of skilled dental professionals to provide exceptional patient care. The working hours may include Saturdays to accommodate patient needs.
