Salary

This is a salary position with a range of 65,000 to 80,000 per year depending on experience.

Job Type

Full-time. 7:00am - 5:00pm MST Mon-Fri. (overtime as needed)

Position Summary:

An Estimator is responsible for preparing a clear and detailed estimate based upon a thorough review of the architectural drawings and specifications for high end commercial projects from bid to hand off to the Project Managers.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to assign fabrication, finish, and installation time to each piece of millwork without the assistance of pre-determined formulas or times.
  • Bidding projects ranging in size from $2,000 - $3M+.
  • Responsible for reviewing assigned project invitations and gathering all information needed to complete a proposal
  • Clearly communicate with customers in a timely manner (via phone and/or email) to understand project requirements, goals, and post bid questions
  • Understands the current market and works to put together winning, profitable proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to pursue and earn projects bid.
  • Once awarded, set up projects for a detailed and successful hand-off to Project Management and Engineering.
  • Have an understanding of standard building construction methods to include AWI guidelines, LEEDS, and FSC requirements.
  • Handle multiple tasks in a deadline orientated environment.
  • Possesses excellent communication, mathematical, and grammar skills.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Minimum (10) years of experience in millwork estimating. Experience in any other construction and building industry is not an acceptable substitution.
  • Ability to create a takeoff from scratch. Must be able to breakdown millwork into each piece and component and price without the aid of pre-existing formulas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Ability to read architectural blueprints and shop drawings identifying all millwork items.
  • Strong understanding of millwork construction methods; demonstrate continuous education to keep up with changing needs.
  • Experience using Blue Beam preferred
