Truss Builder / Assembler

SUMMARY: Assembles roof and/or floor trusses by performing repetitive job(s) on an assembly line or sub-assembly line to produce and assemble the truss.

• Previous Experience In: truss building, assembling or manufacturing / construction, new construction, roofing, assembling, carpentry, operating forklift, sawing, handling equipment (safely), assembling roof or floor trusses.

• Schedule: Day shift - Monday to Thursday (6 a.m. - 4:30) / Night shift - Monday to Friday (5 p.m. - 1:30 a.m.)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble trusses by positioning lumber and plates on the line, aligned within the hardware

• Set press machine pins as directed.

• Hammer plates into lumber the truss.

• Release assembled truss from hardware on to racks or stacks on the ground.

• Maintains cleanliness of the working area, free of miscellaneous equipment and debris.

• Must comply with all employee conduct and safety guidelines.

• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Complete continuous quality review throughout processes to meet quality and accuracy requirements including dimensions, lumber grades, and building process.
• Report any equipment and product deficiencies to Lead.
• Follow all established written and unwritten company procedures

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from others and communicate with team.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

• Able to perform assembly tasks as required

• Basic Math skills needed and read a standard tape measure

• Able to handle physical work load

• Able to handle: hand tools, power tools, machinery and equipment properly and safely
