Conrail has immediate openings for the position of Car Inspector in the Camden, NJ area.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• A Car Inspector is responsible for inspecting and repairing railcars. Repair includes welding, painting, cutting of metal, and sandblasting. These employees are also responsible for maintenance tasks such as railroad car door replacement.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects of various weight.
- Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, stoop and climb.
- Distinguish colors and communicate using a radio.
- Speak, read and write English.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Subject to random alcohol and drug testing pursuant to Federal Railroad Administration Guidelines.
