Veterinary Technician Assistant

AVS Mountainland Animal Hospital is seeking a full or part-time Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team!

Our technicians work closely with the veterinarians to ensure excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a strong work ethic. Individuals must be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do:

• Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and IV catheter placement
• Obtain laboratory sample collection, process, and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
• Take digital radiographs and digital dental x-rays
• Surgery Assistance includes experience in handling anesthesia and patient monitoring.
• Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
• Ability to effectively communicate and educate clients
• Use of computerized medical records and invoicing
• Areas of small animal practice include wellness, comprehensive, and surgery appointments.

Qualifications:

• State of West Virginia Technician License preferred but not required
• 1+ year experience in small animal practice
• Experience in surgical procedures is preferred but not required 
• Interest in surgical procedures 
• Motivated to maintain our standards of excellent client services and high-quality patient care
• Team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude
