 Beautiful Clarksburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a full-time board certified or board eligible Oncologist/Hematologist to join our team and provide excellent care to Veterans. The candidate shall perform a variety of Oncological and Hematological services by providing consultative care to hospital inpatients requiring hematology or oncology consultation; provide care to new consults and return patients in the outpatient clinic setting. In addition:

Oversee the chemotherapy infusion room and administration of systemic cancer therapy.

Provides ongoing care for assigned patients and make assessments and use appropriate diagnostic evaluations and implement timely and appropriate treatment.

Perform bone marrow biopsies on patients where this procedure is appropriate, review peripheral blood smears if indicated.

Works effectively with patients, families, staff, co-workers, and other health care professionals.

Provides education and counseling of patients and families in preventive care, medical conditions, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

Work Volume: (Number of patients seen per day, the ratio of the clinic to admin time, etc.): 12-14 patients/day
