Holzer Health System is seeking an additional BE/BC AP/CP Pathologist to join our team.

Practice Profile:

  • Nine Clinical Pathology Laboratory Sites within the counties of Gallia, Jackson, Athens, and Meigs, OH as well as Mason County, West Virginia
  • Medical directorship of laboratory sites is shared between Pathologists
  • CLIA and CAP or COLA accredited labs
  • Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Workload:

  • Surgical: 15-20 cases/day per Pathologist
  • Specimens include: biopsies, excision, and resections, head and neck area, GI tract, GU tract, Skin, Lung Pathology, Bone Marrow, Lymph Nodes, Bone and Soft Tissue
  • Gynecological Cytology: 10-15 cases/day (Thin Prep)
  • Non-Gynecological Cytology: 5-8 cases/day
  • Full-time cytotechnologists employed to perform initial screening of cytology specimens

Overview of Position Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting Surgical and Cytology specimens daily
  • Grossing of Specimens (histologists perform grossing of small specimens)
  • Frozen Sections Procedures
  • Immunohistochemistry/Special Stains
  • Tumor Board/Cancer Center Committee participation
  • Medical Directorship for Site Location Labs
  • Involvement in/and performing CAP Inspections
  • Teaching Residents/Medical Students as needed

Preferences for the Position:

  • Good working knowledge of anatomic pathology, cytopathology, and immunohistochemistry.
  • Experienced in hematopathology and blood bank is a plus
