Part-Time Animal Care Assistant with Weekend Duties

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time Animal Care Assistant. This position primarily focuses on providing care and support for the animals on our farm during weekends. Responsibilities:

• Ensure the health and well-being of our farm animals by providing daily care, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their overall condition.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures, barns, and other areas to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
• Help with basic grooming and hygiene tasks, such as brushing, bathing, and hoof trimming.
• Assist in administering medications and treatments as directed by the farm manager or veterinarian.
• Monitor animal behavior and promptly report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with the handling and restraint of animals during veterinary visits or other necessary procedures.
• Participate in the maintenance of accurate records, such as animal health records, feeding schedules, and any other relevant documentation.
• Support in organizing and maintaining animal care supplies and equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the animals.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with animals, preferably on a farm or in a similar setting, is desired.
• Availability to work on weekends is essential for this position.
• Knowledge and understanding of animal care practices, including feeding, handling, and basic healthcare.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail to detect any changes in animal behavior or health.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the farm team and report any concerns.
• Basic record-keeping skills to maintain accurate documentation related to animal care.
• A genuine passion for animal welfare and a compassionate approach to their care.

Note: This is a part-time position specifically focused on weekend duties for animal care. Hours needed are: Monday 10am-2pm, Wednesday 10am-2PM and Saturday and Sunday 8am-10am and 4pm-6pm.
