NON- REMOTE Position Insurance Verification Coordinator

Retina Center of Texas is currently seeking a highly motivated Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. As part of our team, they will be responsible for obtaining patient benefits, referrals and pre-certification via phone call, or online access. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

This job is ideal for someone who is dependable, people-oriented, adaptable/flexible, detail-oriented, autonomous/independents, and high-stress tolerance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Obtain patient benefits, referrals, and pre-certifications via phone or online access

· Prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met

· Acts as a source of reference for other team members

· Document the insurance and authorization verification information in the applicable computer system

· Ensure insurance carrier documentation requirements are met and referral support documentation is filed in patient records

· Communicate with patients about co-pays, benefits, coverage, and care authorization

· Research and correct invalid or incorrect patient demographic information to ensure proper billing

· Enter and maintaining accurate insurance information in the patient record

· Ensure accuracy of data input

· Notify billing department of any problematic insurance issues

· Maintain HIPAA compliance

· Provide excellent and considerate customer service

Requirements:

· Experience with Nextech preferred

· Minimum of 2-years' experience in insurance verification and obtaining referrals and pre-certifications

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to organize and effectively work on multiple projects at one time

· Must demonstrate the ability to work as a team member

· Ability to recognize and identify issues and risks and escalate issues to management

Education

· High school or equivalent (Required)
