Job Description

Pilates Social Studio is looking for certified Pilates Instructors to teach safe and effective privates, duets and small group classes at our beautiful new Pilates studio in the Hamptons (Water Mill). Candidates should be fully certified in all Pilates apparatus, team player, able to modify sessions for common conditions/injuries, and a reliable professional with enthusiastic demeanor. Recent experience teaching Pilates is preferred. All levels of experience are encouraged to apply, from new teacher/apprentice through senior/master instructor. Candidates should be able to accommodate typical part-time or full-time position hours, and offer a minimum of 12-14 hours/week of teaching availability. We are very thoughtful about the schedule and teacher preferences/requests.  

We have an existing strong and experienced team, and a stellar clientele. The studio environment is pristine with tons of windows, natural light and all new equipment from the best producers including cadillacs, reformer/tower combo units, free standing reformers, ladder barrel, 6 wunda chairs, high chair, baby chair, spine correctors, small barrels, ped-o-pull, lots of props, and few special goodies. We offer a friendly and supportive environment for instructors and clients to achieve their goals and enjoy the practice. We have classical roots but encourage creativity, diversity and collaboration across teaching styles to deliver the best outcomes for our team and our clients. 

Qualifications & Skills

Pilates Comprehensive (Apparatus) Certification required; additional pilates education desirable

Must offer a minimum of 12-14 hours (2 shifts) per week of teaching availability

Experience teaching a variety of clients; recent experience teaching in a pilates studio preferable 

All levels of experience considered from new teacher/apprentice through senior/master instructor

Must possess exceptional customer service skills, be a team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

Provide suitable pilates private/duet sessions and group classes (typically 3-6 clients) that are safe, effective and fun

Modify sessions based upon client needs, goals and preferences  

Must be familiar and able to teach on most forms of apparatus, and able to learn the pieces of equipment that may be less familiar  

Maintain a consistent schedule and arrive on time

Meet and greet clients at the door

Conduct new client consultation and form at first session to identify injuries/limitations, customization needed, and agree suitable goals

Develop rapport with clients and team

Monitor and instruct clients during Pilates training sessions on the safe and effective use of the equipment

Maintain the cleanliness of the Pilates studio

Reset/restore the correct set up of equipment and props, with equipment cleaning/wipe down after each use

Follow and support the studio policies

Highlights questions, issues and suggestions to management to keep the studio running smoothly
