Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer - Burbank

Job Responsibilities

Los Angeles Branch Office - located in Burbank

• Manage multiple clients, contracts, and projects at the same time.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses, studies, and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering and other reports.
• Perform field explorations, collection of samples, and geotechnical reconnaissance.
• Perform construction observation on job sites prepare applicable documentation.
• Interact and communicate with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
• Lead, mentor, oversee, and/or supervise engineers, geologists, and administrative staff.
• Review technical reports prepared by supporting engineers.
• Review engineering calculations prepared by supporting engineers.
• Support business development and marketing activities, including preparation of cost proposals and presentations to existing and prospective clients.
• Follow Shannon & Wilson's Quality Assurance policy.
• Follow and promote Shannon and Wilson's Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering specialty)
• MS or PhD Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or Geological Engineering), supported by a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology.
• 7 to 14 years of experience.
• California Professional Civil Engineering (CE) license required and California Geotechnical Engineering (GE) license preferred .
• Project management experience.
• Mentoring and supervisory experience preferred.

A Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer will be hired in as a Senior Professional I, II, or III.

• Senior Professional I range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00
• Senior Professional II range: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
• Senior Professional III range: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00

The pay range for this position depends on skills, education, and experience. In additional to base pay, all employees are also eligible for an annual year-end discretionary bonus. If an employee is exempt, they are eligible to accrue comp time in hours excess of 40 each week.
