Child Care Assistant

Job Description:

• We are looking for a Child Care Teacher Assistant to encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facility. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination. You must be at least 18 years old, must pass a background check, must be available Monday-Friday and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

• Provide basic care and caregiving activities to the students
• Supervise infants, preschoolers, toddlers individually and in small groups.
• Greet the children and parents when they arrive to the school.
• Assist toddlers and infants with feeding, personal hygiene and toileting issues as necessary.
• Sanitize toys, play areas, and work surfaces regularly to promote a safe and healthy environment
• Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the State of Michigan

Skills:

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and ability to move freely (bending, sitting on floor, running, jumping, ) to support the indoor and outdoor activity of children required
• Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
• Patience, flexibility and love for children
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Certificate in first aid, CPR and blood borne pathogen or willingness to obtain.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.50 - $13.50 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime Available

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
