Entry Level Remodeling Carpenter

JOB TITLE: Remodeling Carpenter

DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS

REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Assist Supervisor in completion of job orders on schedule at or above Re-Stair’s quality standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Measure, cut, secure, install and finish staircase components as needed, including but not limited to; sub-treads/Risers, rough stringers, subflooring, open stringers, treads, handrails, newel posts, balusters, and skirt boards.

• Assist Supervisor with job setup, cleanup, tool maintenance, and general preparation as needed.

• Receive and inspect raw material shipments, organize shop and track inventory levels in carpentry trailer.

• Prime, Paint, Sand, Cut, and label Riser Material before storing in designated warehouse storage areas as needed.

• Wear job-required PPE (personal protective equipment) while safely using palm sanders, pneumatic fasteners, saws, various power tools, and specialty hand tools.

• Follow detailed instructions in a timely manner while maintaining appropriate jobsite behavior and appearance as outlined in Employee Handbook.

• Proficiently use bubble levels, carpentry squares, measuring tape, and other tools as required.

• Apply adhesives, caulk, and wood filler products according to job supervisor guidelines.

• Maintain a clean workspace and follow trailer storage procedures.

• Stain, sand, refinish and stage treads on-site or in warehouse environment according to job specifications.

• Position homeowner furniture using drop cloths, plastic sheeting, painter’s tape, and vacuum as needed to ensure a clean work environment and the protection of and appearance of protection for homeowner’s floor and furniture.

• Interact with customers using customer-centric behavior, mannerisms, and professional conduct described in the Employee Handbook.

• Ask Supervisor questions when unsure of job order specifications while on-site or in the warehouse.

• Notify supervisor of any issues or concerns with job or materials in a discreet manner.
