Job Summary
Thank you for your interest! The Medical Assistant performs all the activities, which enhance patient care and contribute to the organization and efficiency of the practice. The Medical Assistant provides all aspects of clinical care within their realm of clinical competence, as delegated and supervised by the physician/provider. The Medical Assistant assists physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties, within their scope of practice. These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, and guests.
General Accountabilities
Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
Cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations.
Interviews patients to obtain their medical history.
Records patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files.
Performs routine screening tests, such as height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks.
Draws blood, injections, removes sutures, changes dressings (Must be an ACTIVE Certified Medical Assistant to perform this)
Purchases and maintains supplies and equipment.
Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instruments.
Properly disposes of contaminated supplies.
Assists physicians and providers during examination by handing over instruments and materials.
Performs other related duties aimed at facilitating efficient medical care as directed by the provider.
Screens incoming phone calls, facilitates appropriate communication and prioritizes according to level of importance.
Schedule patient appointments, pursuant to provider protocol.
Participates in Quality Improvement activities as directed.
Participates in continuing education programs and all assigned meetings.

Job Qualifications
Education: High-School graduate or equivalent.
Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Licenses/Certifications: CPR and first aid certification required; certification as a medical assistant (CMA) preferred
Knowledge of AdvancedMD EMR System preferred.
Skills
Strong customer service skills, with a proven track record of demonstrating solid customer experience.
Must be detail oriented, with a demonstrated commitment to providing superior patient care.
Must possess strong organizational skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the population served.
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment, including Word.
Performance Reviews
A 30-day performance review will be performed after the date of hire. Annual performance reviews will be performed for this position.
