Cost Accountant

Job description

Key Responsibilities

· Perform month-end cost accounting closing activities.

· Prepare actual versus budget analysis.

· Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory and expense information.

· Maintain cost updates for all raw material and finished goods items.

· Analyze changes in actual product costs versus product cost estimates.

· Record cost information for use in controlling expenses.

· Prepare estimates of new product costs.

· Recommend cost efficiencies.

· Provide management with product profitability reports.

· Validate actual costs of finished goods in the ERP system.

· Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.

· Manage the excess and/or obsolete inventory review process.

· Ensure validity and accuracy of the cost components in the ERP system.

· Develop and document policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.

Required Skills and Attributes

· Bachelor degree in accounting or finance.

· 5-10 years of cost accounting experience.

· Hands on ERP experience.

· 5+ years of plant and manufacturing operational experience.

· Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.

· Strong Excel skills.

· Ability to streamline and automate processes.

· Good problem-solving abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $30.00 per hour
