The Boy & The Bear - Coffee Roastery is a small fast-growing company in the specialty coffee industry. Our team is looking for strong minded baristas with enthusiasm and energy to share our story, our brand and coffee knowledge to our customers. Our coffee brand is going through an exciting phase of expansion right now which means that we need you to put your heart in our brand with an interest to develop as a person and professional barista. LEAD BARISTA / STORE LEADER'S ASSITANT

PART-TIME: 20 to 25 hours a week.
- $17.5 per hour + Tips. ( Average of + $8.5 / HR )
- You will be scheduled 5 days a week / 2 days off.
- 5 to 6 hours shifts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You are passionate for world class specialty coffee.
- Impeccable Customer Service.
- 2 years of experience in the Specialty Coffee industry (Deal Breaker)
- Solid Latte Art Skills. (Deal Breaker)
- Knows how to dial and make the right variable adjustments for a great espresso shot.
- Reliable on every shift and STRONG WORK ETHICS.
- Detail oriented
- Problem solver
- Legacy to our customer experience and product quality is your big priority.
- Flexible schedule and MUST be able to work Friday, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
- Food Handlers card required.
- Must work well with others and take initiative.
- Keeping a healthy and amicable work environment is also your priority.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Being Able to attend shifts at our three of our locations Redondo Beach, Culver City & Westchester when / if required is a BIG PLUS. (All three locations within 12miles distance)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Team Organization.
- Makes decisions at the store level and notifies Store Manager as well as ownership.
- Attend to our team members' concerns and solve them effectively.
- Identifies unprofessional and or toxic behaviors within your store team and addresses to keep a positive and safe work environment.
- Leads and reinforces our company’s values and specialty coffee culture between our team to project the same into our customer’s experience.
- Responsible for shift covering when sick days or no show for other team members.
- Knows how to organize your team according to everyone’s strengths for a faster service and consistent product quality.
Product Quality and Store Appearance.
- Ensures all cafe areas are clean and tidy by creating Daily cleaning schedules for the entire store.
- Always keeps shelves and fridges fully stock and clean.
- Keeps products on the shelves aligned and organized by date.
- Manages raw material by date to avoid/reduce unnecessary waste.
- Solves every unforeseen store task in a timely manner and effectively.
- Maintains safety features and optimal store appearance, FOH, and BOH.
Customer Experience.
- Order’s turnaround time is always your main priority.
- Ensures every order will be a faster service with a consistent high product quality.
- Ensures that the barista on the register greets every customer immediately in a friendly manner before the customers greet first.
- Attends to customer’s feedback, complaints and finds ways to resolve any situation making sure the customer is finally satisfied.

The Boy & The Bear - Coffee Roastery was established in 2012 as a pop up shop in Villavicencio – Colombia. With a task of serving Colombian coffees only. We work in close relationships with most of our coffee farmers because we believe in transparency and honest connections.

The first official storefront in Redondo Beach CA. opened its doors in 2016. Two years later The Boy & The Bear was able to bring the best Colombian coffee experience to Culver City in early 2018. And now Westchester CA, a beautiful and welcoming neighborhood 5min from LAX also has this magical Colombian experience to be shown as it opened in December 2019.
