Job Description
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the warehousing, logistics, and distribution activities supporting the manufacturing and service operations. This includes responsibility for Inbound (Unload, Receipt and Put-away) and Outbound (Pick, Pack, & Ship) Operations, Inventory Accuracy, and Transportation. The position is also responsible for ensuring regulatory and legal compliance with Import/Export, Department of Transportation, and International Air Transport Association requirements for hazardous goods labeling, handling, and shipping.
Requirements
Responsible for establishing a culture of safety throughout the operation, maintaining a safe and secure work environment with a high level of safety awareness among associates.
Manages compliance of distribution processes to Company policy, IATF standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Quality Systems.
Maintains Systems and Processes to ensure regulatory and legal compliance with Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Department of Transportation.
Manages operations to deliver service-level goals of Sales and Service, ensuring customer requirements are met and complaints are resolved in a timely and acceptable manner.
Evaluates, develops, and operates within annual expense, and personnel budgets.
Support the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) process for every part number entering the plant and warehouse regarding storage points, point of use, rate of usage, and other important information.
Ensures warehouse layout is optimally designed and managed to provide On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery utilizing Sales Inventory Operations Plan (SIOP) and Plan-For-Every-Part (PFEP) processes for maximum efficiency.
Make materials flow throughout the facility with much higher accuracy at much lower cost by managing: 1) Parts from receiving dock to its point of use in the plant 2) Purchased-parts market 3) Precise delivery system to move all materials in the site
Manages required recurrent staff training programs.
Manages the carrier selection and evaluation program. Makes recommendations as appropriate for optimal transportation modes, carriers, routing, equipment, or frequency. Negotiates freight rates, logistics and services agreements and monitor trends in shipping patterns and lane utilization to minimize overall net freight costs.
Analyzes distribution and logistical problems to develop solutions including hardware and software applications that drive accuracy, efficiency, and customer loyalty. Applies lean principles across distribution operations.
Maintains Import and Export systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
- 5-7 years of experience
- 2+ years managing people
- APICS Certification is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
