Veterinary Assistant /Receptionist

At Abbey Vet Hospital and Lone Tree Vet Hospital in Antioch, we treat all variety of dogs and cats. Currently hiring for a full time and part time Veterinary Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant. 

Veterinary Assistant Job Duties:

• Greet clients and obtain contact information and pet medical histories
• Help the pets to bring back to the treatment area and restrain the pets while the vet performs an initial evaluation of their health
• Provide assistance to the veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures
• Handle basic care duties, such as cleaning and dressing wounds, administering medication, collecting samples, and checking vitals
• Assist with diagnostic imaging and lab work, including blood tests and analysis of urine samples
• Provide basic vaccine information to clients about their pets
• Sterilize tools and restock examination and operating rooms
• Inform and educate families about at-home care for their pets
• Update patient files and handle other administrative duties as necessary

Veterinary Reception Job Duties

• Answering the phone calls with courteous manner, collecting the data and scheduling the appointments.
• Greet the customers with well manners, and provide the needed information
• Maintain the emails in timely manner
• Providing the basic information to the customers regarding the appointments.
• Thorough check up on the emails, supporting soft ware and answer them appropriately
• Keep maintain the lobby and front desk always clean and tidy
• Check in and check out patients and clients accordingly
• Collecting the payments and hand over the receipts and help the clients on follow up appointments.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 1+ years of veterinary experience
• Passion for working with animals
• Excellent communication and organizing skills
• Able to restrain larger pets when necessary
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Flexible schedule
