2. Remuneration

The remuneration, or take-home pay, of U.S. Army personnel is often misunderstood because people focus on basic pay. Most people who don't understand how the pay is structured think it's a low-paying job. In the U.S. Army, the pay structure is different. GI Bill

Financial aid

ROTC

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is an organization that offers scholarships to students who want to join the U.S. Army as an officer. You get scholarships that pay for your education in return for eight years of service commitment upon graduation.

Postgraduate scholarships

The U.S. Army offers graduate-level scholarships to people who want to study law, medicine or enter seminary school. Scholarships like the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) cover medical students while the Funded Legal Education Program (FLEP) takes care of those who want to study law. As someone who is serving in the U.S. Army, you have a great advantage over the civilian because you can get a VA loan, which enables you to own a home with zero down payment. A VA loan is a mortgage offered by private lenders but partially backed by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office. VA loans have one of the lowest rates available as compared to traditional mortgage lending rates. VA loans are available to active-duty soldiers who have served for six months. A reserve soldier can apply after six years of service unless they are called up for active service. They must have completed 181 days of active service before they are eligible to apply.
