General Description of Job:

Synergy is seeking a Production Planner for our manufacturing facility located in Lancaster, South Carolina. We are seeking candidates that take initiative, are self-starters possess a positive attitude, are cordial and take great pride in their work. The individual awarded this position must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to perform the following essential functions.

The Planner/Scheduler will plan and schedule production. Experience with ERP/MRP is required along with high attention to detail and desire to provide excellent customer service to ensure customer and company delivery requirements are met. Position will have high visibility and frequent interaction with Sales, Production and Warehouse teams as well as Senior Management.

The Production Planner/Scheduler will work closely with operations to create, modify and manage production schedules to ensure production deadlines are met. The Production Planner/Scheduler will determine material, equipment, and labor requirements, prepare status and performance reports, and resolve production issues as they arise. The Production Planner’s responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management, and facilitating timely delivery of products to customers.

A successful and exceptional Production Planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Review production orders for completeness and before release to the floor.

· Run MRP and release purchase requisitions / orders based on demand

· Track and redate purchase orders as appropriate.

· Maintain live production orders and close out when complete. This would certainly be very hands on at the start as we train new operators.

· Run capacity planning module and review as needed.

· Maintain master schedule re material etc.

· Manage cycle count process and report as needed.

· Manage and report inventory performance and other key metrics.

· Update and maintain system documentation.

  • Analyze capacity constraints and recommend necessary adjustments to resources and lead times by monitoring actual production and comparing to schedule
  • Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Analyze lead times with operations and supply chain to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Communicate and escalate issues where necessary and ensure a continuous flow of material to meet customer expectations.
  • Coordinate production schedule and update meetings while presenting updated master production schedules and making the necessary adjustments to keep the plan accurate and updated.
  • Work to analyze production levels and product demand to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability while minimizing inventory levels and costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

  • ERP/MRP experience required
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office skills, specifically advanced excel and analytical skills (data tables, formulas, pivot tables, macros) required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of production operations, Quality System Procedure and SOP’s, and a good understanding of continuous improvement/LEAN methods.
  • Experience in production planning, production materials, manufacturing processes, forecasting and inventory related to production and scheduling activities.
  • In depth knowledge of Production and Inventory Control Processes.
  • High organization, prioritization, multi-tasking, and planning skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work professionally in a team environment with flexible work hours
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or other related discipline (Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Production/Planning Management) or equivalent level of experience.
  • 5 plus years of relevant work experience in production planning/scheduling, supply chain management, or logistics
  • Certifications such as the Advancing Productivity, Innovation and Competitive Success (APICS), and Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Production Planner/Scheduler
  • Advanced experience in all Microsoft Office applications


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
