Busser - Full-time / Part-time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Arrives to work on time, with a CAN DO attitude, neat and well-groomed for every shift, in a clean and proper uniform.
• Demonstrates helpful, positive attitude at all times to Customers, Teammates and Managers.
• Adheres to all of SHELLS safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures.

​Pre-Shift:

• Delivers clean floor mats to bar area service stations and lobby.
• Cleans and sweeps outside guest areas before opening.
• Re-lines and distributes clean trashcans to proper locations.
• Stocks all ice bins at bar and service stations.
• Stocks glassware at the bar.

During Shift:

• Buses constantly:
• Carries bus bin to table, along with clean wet and dry towels & cleaning solution.
• Fills bins with dirty bowls, plates, glasses, etc.
• Delivers dirty dishes to dishwashing area; offloads glassware into racks, places dishes on discharge table.
• Breaks down boxes, deliver boxes and trash to dumpsters.
• Cleans spills, and maintains restroom cleanliness.
• After customers leave, prepares tables for the next party by cleaning tables & chairs using sanitizer with wet and dry rags, and arranging/restocking condiments and table items.
• Handles Customers’ requests or complaints by contacting appropriate person--Server or Manager--and passing on the necessary information.
• Replenishes ice in bar and side stations.
• Maintains floors in the dining and lobby areas using sweepers or a broom.
• Changes empty soda boxes.
• Assists in maintaining restrooms.
• Runs glasses to the bar, and empties trash as necessary.
• Checks building exterior for trash and debris; cleans and sweeps as necessary.

Closing:

• Sweeps walk-in refrigerators and storage rooms.
• Empties trash cans from around the restaurant, cleans them with water/hose nightly.
• Sweeps front pad area outside of restaurant.
• Deliver collected dirty dishes from the bar to dishwashing area.
• Cleans and hangs to dry overnight any mats, rugs or carpets in kitchen or restaurant.
• Cleans bus tubs daily, scrubbing them with sanitary cleaner.
• Checks out with Manager at end of shift; performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School or GED equivalent preferred.
• Previous restaurant experience helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements of this position include:

Constantly standing, walking, bending, lifting and carrying items (up to 50 pounds), exposure to sharp instruments. Occasionally requires some exposure to heat (100 degree or more), cold (50 degree or less) and chemicals. Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions in English.
