SUMMARY

Under the direction and supervision of the Manager on Duty (Restaurant or General Manager), responsible for the same work as other hourly Team Members, but in a leadership capacity. This position normally requires less experience and defers to management for decisions regarding operations of the shift and discipline of the team. The General Manager or Restaurant Manager is normally physically present during Shift Leader’s assigned shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs restaurant employees on assigned shift to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, and optimum guest service. Assists in planning and supervising completion of all job task assignments and ensures adherence with safety and security procedures. Monitors the interior/exterior cleanliness of the restaurant at all times and initiates clean-up as needed. Performs other related activities in accordance with policies and procedures as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

At least 6 months restaurant experience (or 3 months Pollo Tropical experience), ability to effectively communicate with guests and restaurant personnel, ability to move freely through restaurant and meet speed of service requirements. Ability to read company instructions, orders on screen/receipts and written materials, ability to operate cash register, basic mathematical skills, High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must pass Shift Leader training and be certified.
