JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Specialist Technician: Revised 4/22/2019 – Closing Date: Until filled
Location: Okmulgee, OK

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a high level of integrity to join the Covington Aircraft team. Covington provides on the job training, and we don’t require licensing or prior experience. This position is labor intensive, and requires being on your feet most of the shift, upper body movement, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting up to 80 pounds, and lifting fifty pounds 5 feet high.
Duties:
Job duties are assigned by the area Supervisor which may include tasks that would include, but not limited to:
• Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
• Examine structures or vehicles such as aircraft, trains, nuclear reactors, bridges, dams, and pipelines, using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
• Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials.
• Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques.
• Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results.
• Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, or results.
• Supervise or direct the work of non-destructive testing (NDT) trainees or staff.
• Produce images of objects on film, using radiographic techniques.
• Make radiographic images to detect flaws in objects while leaving objects intact.
• Map the presence of imperfections within objects, using sonic measurements.
• Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer.
• Visually examine materials, structures, or components for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks, or other flaws, using tools and equipment such as endoscopes, closed circuit television systems, and fiber optics.
• Identify defects in concrete or other building materials, using thermal or infrared testing.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED (Equivalent)
• Minimum of two (2) of years of experience in at least one of the following test methods: Industrial Computed Tomography, Radiography, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle preferred.
• NDT inspectors are not required to have a degree, but they are required to have a high school diploma or GED and must complete a minimum amount of formal classroom training covering NDT theory and equipment use.
• Lifting up to 80 pounds
• Lifting 50 pounds up to 5 feet high
• Detail oriented
• Tolerance for repetition
• Read and write English
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information:
• This is an entry level position
• Full-time is eligible for benefits after 60 days
• Must be willing to work the night shift
• Foreign language such as Spanish or Portuguese would be viewed as a plus
