Job Description
Nursing staff needed for medical and detox areas
Responsibilities:
(1) Supervise prescription and over the counter medications per Flint Odyssey House policies.
(2) Maintain appropriate medical documentation nursing notes, medical intake, etc.
(3) Provide pertinent medical feedback and consultation to Flint Odyssey House staff and supervisors.
(4) Assist Director in evaluating medical status for men/women requesting admission for withdrawal management.
(5) Witness urine drops as needed.
(6) Request medical supplies as needed and control medical petty cash.
(7) Conduct clinical services as assigned i.e. individual counsleing, group counseling, case management, assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning, etc.
(8) Review medication log daily to assertain medication compliance.
(9) Monitor compliance of medical records i.e. medical intake, infectious disease risk assessment, TB testing, physicals, immunizations, weekly urine screens, biopsychosocial, individual plan of service, ect.
(10) Coordinate daily Withdrawal Management medications, Histoty and Physical’s, Phsychiatric Evaluations, Medication Review and assure documentation is in the client record.
(11)Assure TB testing is being conducted for residents.
(12) Ensure all new withdrawal management clients being admitted during your shift are triaged upon admission i.e. complete drug screen, breathalyzer, vitals, drug history and withdrawal screeing.
(13) Report findings to of all intakes to Nurse Preactitioner, Physician Assistant and/or Addictionologist and implement orders verbal and written orders as given ensuring these are documented in the client record.
(14) Conduct pregnancy test on all females that do not report hysterectomy.
(15) Complete medical history on all clients entering the program.
(16) Conduct psychosocial assessment on clients admitted to the program.
(17) Develop Individualized Plan of Service for Withdrawal Management including transition plan.
(18) Coordinate discharge planning with Medical Assistant and/or Recovery Coach.
(19) Participate in training for co-occurring disorder services and utilize Motivational Ecnhancement Techniques.
(20) Other duties as assigned.
