Production Coordinator/ Inventory Control

Description

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Sugar Plum Chocolates production area and ensures inventory accuracy.  This position is also responsible for ensuring the production team is well-prepared, organized and has a well-developed production schedule to follow. This position is a direct report to the Operations Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Helps provide a clean, safe, professional work environment.

• Ensures the production team is well prepared, on-time and is efficient with time.

• Provide a well-organized, safe and orderly production area for employees to work in.

• Provide a well-developed production schedule that is easy to manage and execute.

• Ensures production sheets are well maintained and filled in an orderly fashion daily and entered the system.

• Ensures that all production and inventory items that are food or ingredient are batch-managed and properly labeled.

• Ensures the accuracy of food and box labels.  Must be compliant with FDA food label requirements. 

• Create and develop an action plan to catch up on past due orders.

• Constantly review and provide accurate time stamps for production to Operations Manager and to Costing.

• Re-evaluate ways to be efficient to increase output.

• Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule for the production room.

• Ensure inventory is well organized, accurate and has one slot for each item.  

• Verify the accuracy of inbound inventory against packing lists/receiving paperwork.

• Develop an intermediate inventory system (Kanban) until inventory can be fully incorporated into the system.

• Perform routine cycle counts on inventory to ensure accuracy.

• Work daily with Sales/Customer Service and Warehouse admin on current sales orders that need to ship.

• Ensure on-time delivery for customer orders.

• Work with Operations Manager and Frann(title) on upcoming large customer orders timing and identify when production needs to be completed.

• Routinely audit production to ensure efficiency and high level of productivity.

• Work to add inventory for future outbound orders to inventory for immediate shipping purposes.

• Work with Operations Manager to ensure proper maintenance is occurring on equipment.

• Provides reasons for downtime or lack of efficiency to the Warehouse Admin for daily reporting.

• Utilizes computers to input production sheets, inventory, batch information, and etc.

• Validates the workload for overtime and receives the appropriate approvals.

• Provide suggestions to management for process improvement.

• Provide excellent and timely customer service.

• Willingness to be hands-on when needed.

• Provide weekly/monthly reports when needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to indirectly manage a team of individuals and delegate when needed.

• Prior production experience preferred.

• Lead position preferred but not required.

• Inventory control experience is preferred but not required.

• Professional and positive appearance and attitude

• Must have good communications skills.

• Must be detailed and highly organized.

• Must be able to problem solve.

• Willingness to take initiative.

• Systems knowledge including but not limited to Word, Excel.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, climb, and walk for 8 hours or more.

• Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, freezer)

• Ability to lift 60 lbs
