Job Description
We are seeking a Home Health Aide For Personal And Private Services to become a part of our team! You will provide routine healthcare to patients at the patient's home or in a care facility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine individualized care to the elderly, convalescents, or persons with disabilities
- Monitor and report changes in patient health status
- Provide personal care, such as bathing and dressing patients
- Provide specialized healthcare such as assisting with medication reminders and changing minor bandages
- Assist with helping family members to care for the patient with limited mobility
Qualifications:
- Experience in hospice, home health, or other related fields
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the medical staff
EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA:
Our Home Health Aides are responsible for reporting changes in the client's physical, and mental health status and other health concerns to the Registered Nurse.
The Home Health Aide understands that the Licensed Medical Staff will assume all medical treatments, (wound care, medications administration and will assist the client according to their Scope of Practice only.
Must be able to comply with the Licensed Medical Staff's medical suggestions, and agencies policies/protocols, and follow the Plan of Care established for the client’s health conditions.
Virginia Nurse Aide or Personal Care Aide original training certification of completion.
Resume, supporting entry-level home health aide with 6-12 months of experience with limited employment gaps.
Current, copy of 3-month negative TB/Skin test results.
Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR-FA card.
COVID-19 considerations: All members must abide by the CDC, Federal, and State Mandates in place for the COVID-19 pandemic. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination with PSR COVID-19 negative test results with testing or weekly testing required when the following s/s headaches, dizziness, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, lack of smell/taste, diarrhea, coughing, malaise/fatigue, and other signs/symptoms occur as an employee of the agency. Must have own supply of face mask, and digital thermometer.
No restrictions or barrier crimes as a health provider.
Transportation with a copy of auto insurance, driver’s license, and DMV record.
Smartphone to communicate with the agency and Electronic Visitation Verification protocol.
SERVICE AREAS:
Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News.
ASSIGNMENT:
Days, shifts, and hours will vary per client request:
Weekday 5 - 6 hours shifts 8 to 12-hour shifts assignments Weekend 6-12 hours.
We offer the 40-hour Personal Care Aide class for new employees who desire to work in the health field with underserved and elderly clients.
We will need an updated Resume and complete survey as needed for Virginia Training Program (Nurse Aide or Personal Care Aide) submitted.
