Job Description
Full-time in-center position in Decatur. We are looking for a Speech and Language Pathologist who is motivated and knowledgeable in creating and managing a Speech Department within ABA of North Texas. You will get to work with a great and supportive team!
Overview:
Responsible for working to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, and cognitive-communication in children. Additionally, can provide alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders. Speech therapy is provided under a physician approved plan of care.
Responsibilities:
Performs comprehensive examination/evaluation at initial visit to establish plan of care based on findings and approved by physician.
Re-assess patient at a minimum of every 30 days, documents patient progress towards goals, makes necessary revisions to plan of care, and assesses/documents patient's continual care needs.
Provides skilled services and patient management including interventions that are consistent and in accordance with the physician approved plan of care.
Provides documentation for each visit according to ASHA documentation guidelines and accepted regulatory standards for inclusion in patient's clinical record.
Identifies patient's need for other disciplines/services and initiates the appropriate referral.
Completes assessments timely and accurately. Keeps abreast of speech pathology trends and knowledge for the service provision, documentation, and care coordination.
Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development
Qualifications:
Current license to practice speech pathology. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) with completed graduate course work and clinical practicum. Must maintain valid state speech language pathology licensure.
Preferred:
2 years of experience in speech pathology.
