QC Laboratory Supervisor

The role is responsible for delivery of quality results and capability in support of plant goals and in support of Corporate Quality Strategy as it applies to the plant. This role is responsible for managing the incoming inspection and analytical laboratory, coaching and developing personnel, and performing or supervising performance of all incoming component/material testing and analytical testing of Finished Products. The role is also responsible for leading aspects of compliance to ISO standards, FDA regulations and cGMP standards.

Responsible for developing other QA staff and direct reports. Develop direct report capability and assure career development is being supported. Manage performance deviations quickly and effectively – working with the HR department and Plant-Director of Quality. Ensure proper training of personnel and completion of training records. Manage and oversee daily incoming component and raw material testing, bulk testing, and finished good testing including supervision of Incoming Quality Assurance Technician, Laboratory Technician(s), and Chemist(s). Manage systemic capability to deliver results on time and prevent operations wait time. Ensure compliance with SOPs, test methods, safety procedures, plant policies, good laboratory practices and good documentation practices.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field

At least 5 years of experience leading QC laboratories and supervising lab technicians

At least 5 years of experience in a cGMP environment and with FDA regulations for QC labs

Hands on experience with USP, NF, FCC, JCIC, JP, EP, BP test methods

Hands on experience with HPLC and GC instrumentation used for product analytical testing.

Direct experience interacting with regulatory inspectors such as FDA and ISO

Auditing experience (ISO, Labs, CGMP) both internal and external

Supervisory experience and demonstrated capability training and developing people.
