Lead Automotive Mechanic/Shop Supervisor

Southern Dixie Auto Repair is an independently owned automotive shop conveniently located in the Chilton County area halfway between Birmingham and Montgomery. We are seeking to hire auto technicians that are assertive in their duties, achievement and goal oriented with the desire to grow with us! The Automotive Technician will report to the Shop Manager and is responsible for performing basic and advanced vehicle maintenance and repair tasks. The Technician is required to inspect ALL vehicles checked in for potential problems, and troubleshooting any matters to ensure vehicle is performing properly and the customer is made aware of any findings in the inspection.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Automotive repair, 10 years (Required)
• Diagnostic Evaluation, 3 years (Required)
• Auto Technician, 5 years (Required)
• Level A mechanic with strong diagnostic skills. Must demonstrate that knowledge in the interview to be considered for employment.
• A minimum of 5 years’ auto service / engine diagnostic experience in a reputable shop be that independently owned or dealership.
• ASE Certification preferred, but not required.
• Technician has worked in flat rate pay before. The more you make us, the more you make.
• Valid driver’s License.
• Able and willing to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Must have tools needed to perform daily duties.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Above par customer service skills.
• Has advanced experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
• Experience in custom and performance work on vehicles ranging in make, model, and year.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Inspect, replace and/or repair defective parts while performing preventative maintenance on automobiles.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Compensation:

• Up to $75,000.00 per year
